Three school children are among the four dead following a collision between two buses in Smalltown yesterday.


In the wake of the crash, Smalltown School Headmistress Caroline Primm said the accident had a “devastating affect” on the school.


A spokesman for the Rural Ambulance Service confirmed up to 20 people were injured, five critically.


Smalltown resident Gerard Hardwind reported hearing “a huge bang like a bomb going off”.


The national coach bus driver remains in a critical condition in Smalltwon hospital, while the driver of the school bus involved has yet to be identified.
